Terms & Conditions

By booking or attending a class, workshop, event or using our facilities, you agree to the following terms.

1. Bookings & Payments

  • All bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments made via our website are processed securely through Stripe. We also accept BACS transfer for memberships or direct arrangements.

  • Your place is only confirmed once payment has been received.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Classes, tasters & workshops:

    • Cancellations more than 14 days before the start date will be refunded in full.

    • Cancellations between 7–14 days before can be transferred to a future session (subject to availability), but no refund will be offered.

    • Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • If Townhouse Ceramics needs to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date.

3. Studio Use, Materials & Firing

  • Only clays and glazes supplied or approved by Townhouse may be used.

  • Courses: Firing is included up to a fair use allowance (details provided at the start of each course).

  • Memberships: Include a defined kiln allowance per month, measured by volume. Any additional firing will be charged on a weight basis.

  • Finished work must be collected within 1 month of firing. Uncollected work may be disposed of.

  • While every care is taken, ceramics is an unpredictable process. By its nature there is always a risk of technical failure, firing faults, or accidental breakages. Townhouse Ceramics cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to work in these circumstances.

4. Health & Safety

  • Pottery involves risks: sharp tools, dust, chemicals, and hot equipment. You participate at your own risk and must follow all safety guidance given.

  • Covered shoes must be worn in the studio. Long hair should be tied back for wheel work.

  • Eating and drinking are not permitted in making areas.

5. Studio Clean-Up

  • The last 15 minutes of all classes is dedicated to cleaning. This includes gathering tools and cleaning tables, floors, wheels, and equipment in your work area.

  • Townhouse is a communal studio, and its cleanliness depends on everyone doing their part. Please leave your space cleaner than you found it.

6. Behaviour & Conduct

  • Please treat fellow members, staff, and the space with respect. Unsafe or disruptive behaviour may result in removal without refund.

7. Photography & Promotion

  • We may take photographs of classes and workshops for promotional use. Please let us know if you would prefer not to appear in images.

8. Liability

  • Townhouse Ceramics cannot accept responsibility for damage to personal belongings, or for injury caused by misuse of equipment or failure to follow safety instructions.

  • We are not responsible for accidental breakages or firing outcomes beyond our control.

9. Parking & Access

  • Parking in Yew Tree Place is strictly prohibited.

  • We operate a zero tolerance policy on this out of respect for our neighbours. If you are found to be parking there, you will be asked to leave immediately to move your vehicle.

  • If driving, you must use nearby public car parks and avoid blocking driveways or access routes when dropping off or collecting work.
